Unlike big-box chains, the mix of products you can acquire from local businesses is often unique to your community, made with ingredients that are native to your area.

3) It keeps people in our community employed

Small and Medium Sized businesses in Canada are the largest employers. According to the Government of Canada, small businesses represent 48% of the total labour force in the private sector. That equake about about 30% of Canada’s GDP.

4) It's better for the environment.

Shipping, packing and the emissions it creates has a huge impact on the environment. The closer to home you shop, the less distance the package has to travel.
